The first laser was invented in 1960 by Hughes Research Labs, California: Today life would be very different without the use of laser technology. Pryor recognized the benefits Laser could bring to Marking very early in its evolution, and we have been building laser engraving machines and marking machines in Sheffield, England ever since.
The NEW Bench Laser from Pryor is our entry level laser marking machine that can be used across different industries for many common marking and traceability applications, including laser engraving
The new machine is based on our its predecessor but with a number of key improvements and advancements that make it one of the most capable entry level lasers marking machines available today.
The Pryor Laser Workstation is a large, modular floor-standing laser engraving machine. The workstation is a Class 1 laser safe enclosure available in three sizes with manual or automated front access doors for component loading. Pryor offers two models of pulsed fiber laser, 20 watts, or 50 watts, to meet different marking requirements.
The Pryor Portable Laser marking machine is an incredibly mobile solution to laser marking. This machine provides a quick and easy method of marking large, heavy or immobile objects. The handheld laser marker is ideal for marking flat metal surfaces and produces a smooth, high-contrast finish.
The clue is in the name; Dot Peen Marking is a method of creating characters by quickly stamping a series of permanently impressed dots.
Initially pioneered by Pryor in the 1970’s, Dot Peen Marking has become an industry standard for producing low stress marks.
We are very proud of our NEW all-in-one portable dot peen marking machine, The PortaDot 60-30 Touch. The first marking machine to feature our new 4000 integrated control system.
The PortaDot 60-30 Touch is an extremely versatile, lightweight and mobile handheld marking machine with a marking window of 60mm x 30mm. It is powered by a Bosch 36V battery for ‘all day’ use and features patented technology to ensure that the marking force does not deteriorate as the battery power depletes. The new integrated control system is based on our 4000 Series Controller and has many of the same functions and features, all packaged within the marking head for ultimately mobility. Marking programs can be created, edited, and saved directly to the marking machine using the 5.7-inch touch screen display so that they can then easily be loaded the next time that program is required.
It provides a fast, convenient method of marking a huge variety of parts in multiple locations.
The MarkMate is a benchtop dot peen marking machine for engraving small to medium sized components with unique alphanumeric identification, manufacturer information, logos and 2D Barcodes.
Programmed using the 4000 Controller or Pryor’s PC based Traceability Software suite.
The Pryor PortaDot 50-25 is a versatile, lightweight handheld marking machine with a marking window of 50mm x 25mm. It provides a fast and portable method of dot-peen marking, otherwise known as dot marking. Ideal for marking permanent alphanumeric, logo or 2D barcode information onto high variety, immobile, large or heavy components.
The Pryor PortaDot 130-30 is a robust and reliable handheld marking machine with a marking window of 130mm x 30mm. It provides a fast and portable method of dot-peen marking, otherwise known as dot marking. Ideal for marking permanent alphanumeric, logo or 2D barcode information onto high variety, immobile, large or heavy components.
The Pryor BenchDot is a bench mounted dot peen marking machine. These are robust and compact marking devices that can easily integrate into a workshop environment due to their quality build and compact size. The BenchDot is ideal for marking small to medium sized components of unusual shapes and dimensions with alphanumeric information and 2D barcodes.
Programmed using the 4000 Controller or Pryor’s PC based Traceability Software
A heavyweight, high precision hand-held Dot Peen marking machine for deep marking on large / heavy components. The extra size and weight of the unit ensure there is no movement during marking. The PortaDot 100-75 is ideal for large, hard components in heavy industrial applications.
Pryor’s Marking and Verification Station is an all-in-one system for part marking and traceability. Widely used across the aerospace industry as a turn key solution for meeting the stringent aerospace standards. Includes the BenchDot marking machine, pre-configured with the Electric Z Axis with Autosense (EZA) upgrade and Pryor’s MarkMaster Quality software, this equipment provides the starting point for applications where quality, consistency and traceability are paramount. The equipment is fully compatible with Pryor’s range of vision system that are used for validation and verification and is supplied with Pryor’s VeriSmart 2.1 verification camera as standard
The Mobile Marking station uses a BenchDot marking head mounted onto a tilting column for ultimate portability and flexibility, it is ideal for low volume, high variety components. The marking head can be tilted from -10 degrees to +90 degrees meaning that marking on an angled surface is simple and straightforward. The table top is covered with a thick, industrial, non-slip surface to protect the cart and ensure the part does not move during the marking cycle. The top is drilled with M10 tapped holes at 75mm pitch for easy fixture attachment.
Programmed using the 4000 Controller or Pryor’s PC based Traceability Software
Pryor Scribe Machines are used for mechanically engraving stainless steels through to precious metals.
Characters, lines, logos and pictograms are cut continuously in traditional engraving manner but mechanically and guided by software.
The Pryor BenchScribe machine engraves a continuous line inscription onto flat surfaces and parts with large diameters. This bench mounted version is ideal for marking low to medium volumes in a workshop environment. The excellent quality continuous line is the preferred method when marking fine characters as it creates the greatest legibility and is often used for VIN marking in the automotive industry.
Programmed using the 4000 Controller or Pryor’s PC based Traceability Software
Any impression made by hand tools, mechanical or even laser marking machines can have an impact on the surfaces of softer metals and special steels.
Amongst others, the Aerospace industry is a sector where all risk of surface deformation needs to be eliminated, Electrochemical Etching is used extensively in these applications.
Pryor electrolytes are for use with the Chemical Etching system. Supplied in a liquid format.
The Etchmaster USB is an Electrochemical Etching station that uses an electric current to create identification, 2D barcodes and logo designs without distorting the work piece. The Electrochemical Etching station is often used in small to medium production of aerospace components where tight tolerances over surface treatment exist.
